Extrem long rendering of product pages

Post by Cliffdiver »

Hallo, I updatet my joomla 3.10.11 and phoca cart 3.5.6 to the latest versions. Since that time the rendering of the category pages where the products are listed, need more then 400 seconds. The same problem is in the backend.
Some categories have 100 products (these are a little bit faster in rendering) and those with more then 5000 articles load nearly endless.

afterRenderComponent shows in the debug mode 399 seconds, everything else is normal.
In the old version, everything works like a sharme.

Here is the link to the old version: https://sporty.photos/index.php?lang=de (click onto Karwendelmarsch 2022)
Here is the link to the updated version: https://sporty.photos/test/index.php?lang=de (click also onto Karwendelmarsch 2022)

What I wanted to test was to create a new category and copy my products to the new category, but I get an error message in the backend, which tells me, that the Field 'user_id' doesn't have a default value and so I can't save the new category.

Hi,
and phoca cart 3.5.6
first of all, you should update to Phoca Cart v 3.5.8
For the migration from Phoca Cart v3.5.8 to Phoca Cart v4.0.7 you should follow this guide

Kind regards,

Thanks for the informations.
What I did to successfully update to Joomla 4.3.3 and Phoca 4.0.7

1) Backup current Joomla 3 by FTP und SQL
2) Update Joomla to the latest J3 Version and update Phoca to 3.5.8
3) Update every 3rd Party and Phoca Module and Plugin to the latest version.
4) Backup SQL
5) SQL Export only Data from all Phoca Tables
6) Disable non-compatible Modules, Templates etc. which are not included in joomla3
7) Update Joomla3 to Joomla 4
8. Update manually update phoca and its modules and plugins
9) Check if the shop is running as expected because the Update to Phoca cart 4.0.7 do nearly every sql update by itself.
In my case I didn't have to TRUNCATE some tables of phoca cart
If it doesn't work properly, follow step 10.

10) Backup the SQL Data of all phoca cart tables
11) Truncate alle phoca cart tables and import the SQL Backup from Step 5
12) If the shop is still not working properly, restore the Backup of step 10, because it wasn't a sql problem
13) Sometimes during the update of Joomla some files get lost or not completed.
Try to upload via FTP a fresh Joomla 4 to your server, allowing to overwrite the existing files. It will not destroy any configuration of your shop or joomla. Also your layout changes are save, except those in the core files, which inded should not be made.
14) After upload, Login to your J4 and check the database warnings or any other warning ind the joomla backend
15) The last thing what you can check is the following. If you are using htaccess file in your root-folder, check if your shop and joomla 4 is running in a Sub-Folder of your main domain e.g. www.example.com/test/. If so, disable the hataccess file of your subfolder "test"

Normally everything is fine after step 9, but sometimes it's more complicate.
The steps 10 to 15 are suggestions, which helped me in the past, to exclude some Problems.
I hope it helps somebody in the future.
