Hi,

I am building a Joomla site that will have a small number of products to sell and quite a few directories of contacts, skill sets, and service offerings.

Is it possible to use Phoca Cart for the directories?

I quite like the layout and product display and would like to use this for the directories. It would need to hide or remove many of the standard product fields and have contact fields and service description with no price or add to cart.

I thought this might be achieved by having a top level category for shop (which would have price, cart etc, and other main categories for the directories.

Is this possible?

Hi, I think, there should not be any problem, you can use Phoca Cart like catalog or list of items like here: https://www.phoca.cz/jtd/ So there is no limitation.

Can the shop work differently for one top level category to other top level categories? I want to have the shop style for one top level and the other top levels I would like to have no price, cart, or quantities etc and operate as a directory of contacts with address, phone, and other custom fields.

Is this possible?

Hi, even though what I described above might be achievable, I think that it will require too much work and make ongoing maintenance of the site difficult.

I will buy a subscription to a business directory extension for the directory part of the site and keep Phoca Cart for the shop section (it looks good for e-commerce).
