Email on pending adjustment

I see it as a great feature that I can send an email when an order is started but not paid for. The pending state allows for an email. However the link to the order doesn't allow them to complete payment. Could it be worked to get a link to checkout? As a bonus a discount code could be automatically sent which would expire in 12 hours.
