Hi,
First of all, use only one Phoca Theme. Theme Simple or Theme Standard.
Kind regards,

But it does not solve the problem of the scrambled categories view on the site streethunters.fotogamma.be

Hi, on the second site (bad view), there are both themes loaded - simple and standard. Use only one. The second problem could be template CSS or other extension CSS on your site which can e.g. be in conflict with standard flex boxes used in Phoca Gallery
E.g. removing the standard and leaving only simple makes the site look much better:
And using crop thumbnail function can make it much more better.
