Subscriber never gets sign up email

I have some subscribers that never get the confirmation email. It is not all users, only some. Any ideas on what might cause this?
Hi, see which email sending method you are using in your Joomla configuration. There can be a lot of problems. E.g. if you use some SMTP server, mostly e.g. gmails have problems with DKIM, etc. etc. But then you should get some info for the email address from which the emails are sent about the reasons why such emails were not accepted.
So you need to check email settings and then the service which provides the sending of emails. Phoca Email does not send the emails itself, it just ask Joomla to send them.
