Phoca Gallery Image "select category" popup

I'm using version 2.5.8. I have a large directory structure containing all the images I am managing. The folder form a tree of categories. And the images are in the leaf directories. I have a number of issues. Here is one:

In the admin area of Phoca Gallery, in the Image section there's a "select category" popup menu. This menu would be a lot more useful if it included an option to show the selected category AND all sub-categories.

I've got hundreds of categories (with 1000's of images). And from time to time I add a whole new batch of categories (a new subtree in the tree of categories). Because of how Thumbnail creation works (one has to manually page through all the new images) and because the "Publish: No" option doesn't work in "Multiple Add"... I have to manually find all these new images amongst the 1000's of images. It is painful.

However, if I could select the new top-level category in the new sub-tree and have it display all the images in all the sub-categories, then things would be much simpler.

Hi, the popup "select category" follows the joomla! rules In multiple add there is no list of images (images added into gallery), there is only displaying your folder structure on your server like file manager or ftp managers do (there is no ordering, publishig, etc. behaviour )
