Hi, the install.sql is empty because PHP script creates tables while installing (because of installing/upgrading) not the install.sql file ... The install.bak file is there because on some servers, installation script cannot create the tables, so user must do it manually and he can take the prepared SQL queries from this file....
If somebody renames the install.bak file to install.sql file in the ZIP package, all gallery data will be lost while upgrading because this file will be executed and will delete gallery tables in database....
Don't do it, if you want not to lose your data while upgrading !!!
