The installation instructions say . . .
QUOTE
Installation:
* Standard Joomla!1.5 component installation (Extensions - Install/Uninstall - Upload Package File & Install).
* Installation script creates 'image/phocagallery/' folder - here you can upload your images via Joomla! Media Manager or FTP.
END QUOTE
There is an assumption here (oh how I hate assumptions in instructions) that the path is obvious. But it's not.
I got a "successful installation" message from Joomla. But when I open the site in FTP, I do not find any folder named "image/phocagallery/"
In fact there is nothing in either the mod or com folders on my server to show that the PhocoGallery package exists at all. Just to make sure, I refreshed, I disconnected. I reconnected. Nothing. So it's simply not there.
Somewhere there are many assumptions. Somewhere there are installation and activation instructions that are glossed over.
I sound ingrateful I know. But if you are standing on this side of the information canyon, you will appreciate my wonder why such an apparently good and excellent program is left unfinished by omittting the important final steps and substituting assumptions for them.
If those missing instructions are (only) in the manual, common sense and an interest in having the program widely implemented would suggest that this be said so in the alleged instructions.
My experience with comments such as mine is they only generate resentment by the programmer. They do not incite a fresh look at the issue and correction. Maybe this time will be an exception.
What is the full path, please?

I want to add that n
I want to add that now that I have spent another un-necessary hour figuring out those assumptions and stumbling my way to an installation, I now know at least some of what is missing from those totally inadequate and even mis-leading "instructions."
If the owner of this programs encourages me to do so, I will write up the steps that are missing from the quoted "instructions" and offer them in the hope that they are useful to other people like me who expect an instruction to be explicit and complete.

Will be not ...
1. I am not programmer ...
2. It is good for me that I did gallery which I needed
3. It is great for other users that I released it under GPL and gave it users free with quickly support in forum (for 0 USD!!!)
4. It is excellent that I made functions which other users needed (90% of functions in Gallery) in my freetime
5. It is unbelievable that I wrote a Phoca Gallery User Manual:
https://www.phoca.cz/phocagallery/user-manual/ - before Phoca Gallery I didn't speak English, I only copied some phrases from Google ... I do it still ... the only reason why it is readable is that there are some people like Lonetour which helped me with correction my English
6. I have no development team, but the Phoca Gallery is a project which is made usually by development team ...
So please read the Phoca Gallery user manual and look correctly into your server... there is a folder called:
images in your Joomla! site root... In this folder there is a subfolder called phocagallery, so it means that Phoca Gallery has created:
images/phocagallery folder ...
