I love the fact you can make larger thumbnails. And I did. Now when you see a gallery you see the larger thumbnail, with the outer box enlarged, but in the upper corner you see a small white block, which is the background image, I suppose.

How can I make sure that it enlarges too?

And: I don't like that I have to set my parameters with each menulink again. I mean that: when I set up a new menulink to display images from a specific gallery I have to tell it again that the medium thumbnails are 200 instead of 100.

You can see the white boxes here: LINK

Hi, first you must change your background image:

components\com_phocagallery\assets\images\
- shadow1 or shadow2 or shadow3 (what you have set in Parameters component)

There is no way to set 'use global' for text area inputs in Joomla! so if you have e.g. parameter with text (thumbnails size = 200) you must set it in Parameters component in menu link... If there is a select box, you need not to do it becuse there is 'use global' ... if 'use global' is set, then the parameters are taken from Global configuration but for text areas this doesn't exist in Joomla! ...

Hey Jan,

thanks for you help. Actually I'd prefer not to have a background image. Now shadow 2 is good enough.

The problem when I choose: no background image is that the portrait pictures are larger than the box. This is also a problem with the plugin (and I set my overall settings to shadow 2). For the websites - check the Link above (I set it no no background image) and the other one is on the plugin forum.

And it's too bad it isn't possible to let the global parameters rule...

Yes I take a look at the plugin (but after I finished the Phoca Gallery component 1.8.0 alfa)

The pics being too large for the box (when you selected no background - or within the plugin) is only a problem in Firefox 2.0 - IE 7 works fine.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the tip on changing the background image. I wanted to have a thumbnail size of 130 pixels, so I took the original shadow2.gif and sized it to be 148 pixels on a side (that is, taking out exactly 70 pixels from the center in both X and Y directions).

There is one more step after changing the background image. That is, in the menu settings for the album, I set the medium image width and height to match my thumbnail width/height, 130px each. That setting affects the width of the area behind the thumbnail -- it's not automatically based on the thumbnail size as with some other galleries.
