Hi,
I've been trying Phoca Gallery out on a test server on my pc and it's really what I'm looking for! Almost perfect!
But then I ran into a problem and I kind of found out where the problem is, but I can't find the proper solution. Here it is:
When I create a menu link to a certain category (for example "level 1"), viewing images in this category is no problem on the site. When I create subcategories (for example "level 2"), I can't view those images from that subcategorie! I'm directly linked to the login page of Joomla, saying I need to login to view these images... But the acces/viewing rights of all the categories, subcategories included, are set to public...
Here's a step-by-step of my problem (maybe easier to understand):
1. Menu > Pictures (link in menu to category "level 1")
2. I'm directed to a page with the subcategory "level 2". All images in category level 1 can be seen with no problems.
3. I click on the folder/category "level 2"
4. I'm directed to a page saying I need to login to view that page. Result: I can't acces/view the images in category/folder "level 2"
I really need to be able to use subcategories... and I don't get what went wrong. Acces rights of the menu link and all the categories are set to public. What else could I have missed? Help!
problem with rights when using subcategories

I have found the solution... Maybe some of you would be interested.
1. In the backend go to Components > Phoca gallery > Categories
2. Click on the "subcategory"
3. Go to "User folder" and click on the "folder" button.
4. Select the folder to be shown in this subcategory and click on the down arrow (bottom right of the folder).
5. Save and it's done!
