Hi, it is more difficult, not only component but modules and plugins work with the path... some server doesn't create the path correctly, so sometimes this will appear 'folder/./subfolder' but it is the protection against: 'foldersubfolder' which will be created on some servers... next problem is, media manager works only under images folder, next problem is ... and and and...

hello,
I have the same problem with phoca. After reading this thread I decided instead of rewriting the code it would probably be easier to use a symlink.
a symlink from /stories that points to the phocalgalleries directory. haha I just looked with the eXTplorer after the name of the directory and created a subdirectory. I just wanted to ask for a possibilty to make a symlink without a linux and only ftp Access. Extplorer has the option to create a symlink... GREAT!
it seems so that the problem is solved. I am going to create a symlink now. If I am not answering again.... it is working fine.

Sadly my problem isnt solved.
My actual problem is that I would like to use pictures within articles from the gallery. But I can only choose pictures from the /stories folder.
Someone has an idea?

First
thanks Jan for the link.
I had another idea to solve my problem. In the global configuration. It is possible to set the paths for the images. There are any known problems if the image and the media path is the same?
