Hi,
I'm running Joomla 1.5.3 under XP and installed the latest Phoca beta 1.8.1. I uploaded some pictures: to the main category phocagallery and the subcategories phocagallery/cat1 and phocagallery/cat2. I verified in the backend that all pictures have been uploaded correctly, they are where they should be.
However, in the frontend I can't see any pictures. I see the categories, but they seem empty. Picture format is *.png.
Any hint what might be wrong?
Thanks
Julius

I see the pictures in the respective folders, e.g. images/phocagallery/cat1. Therefore I suppose that the thumbs have been created. Or should there be a special thumb-folder?
However, for a few pictures I can't see the thumbnail though these pictures are of the same size (<20 K) and type (*.png) as the others in the same folder. If I click on those pictures without a thumb they will be shown.
Anyhow, I can't see any picture in the frontend.

Julius

This is definitely the shortest and less precise question I have ever heard. I understand I should look for another gallery, right?
Thanks for your support

No, if you look this forum, you will see that I help users to solve their problem (e.g. I take their ftp passwords and joomla admin passwords)... But every components, plugins, modules, every user manuals, every answers in forum I do it by myself in my freetime... and there is no time to write long answers about nothning... and if I have no idea what can be wrong I still write ??? ... Sometimes user will try some other progress and describe me it.. If this other prospect can lead to a solution, I will help...

OK Jan, thanks for your explanation. There was obviously a misunderstanding on my Side. Sorry about that.I supposed you to be the great Phoca guru who has answers to every stupid question.
But don't you think it would be a great idea to substitute "???" by "Sorry, no idea how to solve your problem."?
I'm maintaining a website dedicated to severly disabled people - and I do it also without any financial or other compensation. We care about a lady with severe disabilities. She started some 15 years ago to use a computer for communication and discovered - as a side-effect - that she can create nice pictures with her PC. I put her online with her pictures in the past - the times before Joomla 1.5.x emerged. Now I'm despertely lookimg for a gallery under 1.5.x in order to get her pictures online again.
That's the story behind ..

Thanks for your patience and understanding

Julius

P. S.: Maybe you'll have a look at our website: www.kommhelp.de (you'll be rerouted..)

Usually if I say:
Sorry, no idea how to solve your problem, user will stop asking...but if I write:
??? user will transform his question, maybe hi finds some new details about the problems and we can solve it...

I know what you mean, I have leart ethics in business on uni but this is not business, I am not fighting over customers, we must solve some problems - this is important , no ethics so I have learnt too, that if I write ??? users will check his problems and let me know more details... this is why I write ???
