Navigation plugin showing code instead of buttons

Post by computerguy »

Hi.. loving Phoca Documentation, however I'm trying to get the navigation plugin to work.

I've added the following at the end of my article

Code: Select all

{phocadocumentation view=navigation|type=mpcn}
However, when I view the article, I see the above code in the article, not the navigation arrows/images. What am I not doing correctly?

Sorry for the late reply...

I just re-installed the plugin... it said installation success.

Enabled the plugin in the plugin manager...

Still having the same issue.

No idea what can be then wrong there. Try to check if you have latest component and plugin.

Just before I posted my last reply, I had uninstalled the plugin and downloaded it from your site again before installing it.

Do I have the format of the code wrong?

Is it correct that I just put that exact code above at the end of my article in the text box?

I've got to be missing something somewhere.

Hi, the code should be OK, yes this code should be pasted to the article - everywhere you want

Same here , Joomla 1.5.20 new install, sample data
Installed phoca documentation component, installed navigation plug in, enabled plug in, put code in article and when view article from frontend, the code shows up in article and no navigation bar.

Checked phoca documentation parameters and the same sections are in display section and hide section and I can't remove or add anything in Display or Hide section boxes,

Do I need to remove the sections from Hide Sections ? if so how do I do this

I was going down the wrong track. Phoca documentation parameters doesn't seem to have much to do with it. On a new install it is necessary to "activate" the phoca documentation component before the enabled phocadocumentation navigation plugin will work.
To "activate" it is is necessary to create a menu item of the type - phocadocumentation - section list, otherwise the code inserted into the article shows up as text.
Image

This menu item can be attached to any menu ( or create a new one). This menu item then shows the phaco documentation summary with sections/categories/articles etc

If you just want to use only the navigation you can unpublish or trash the menu item and the navigation icon will still show up in those articles you have inserted the code.
