instead of trying to set a speciffic folder from phocagallery for random image module you should try to set for the menu item that appears on the site a thumbnail instead of plain text....i know it can be set an image for the menu item but it is not linkable and it can't be set to appear as the random image module thumbnail (which is beatiful by the way!!!)...a...and you have done a great job till now!!!Thanks!!

you can't set for random image module to read only images from one category...basicly this is what i want... instead, the mainmenu module display links to categories as plain text...so, it want that the mainmenu module looks exactly like randomimage module

ofcoruse it is....verticaly...with an width of 150 px. and a variable height, you have plenty of room for a thumbnail...and is no need for words to be present...like random image module thumbnail

i was trying to give you an idea... instead of trying to modify the random module to take the photos from a category folder (you said in other topic in this forum that is preaty difficult), you should try to modify the mainmenu module (that shows only plain text, but allready can show photos form a speciffic category) to look like the random module (with thumbnail that can be clickable)...

now I understand, problem is that I cannot edit mainmenu module because it is a part of Joomla! framework and if user will upgrade e.g. Joomla! everything will be lost, so the only way is to do new module (the next problem is, module is about menu links in menu manager, not about categories in some component)
