First, I want to say thank you for your efforts. This really is an awesome component! I've waited for a long time to create a family website because I couldn't find the right gallery.
I need help getting the images to resize. I know that I have to set the thumb and detail sized prior to upload and thumb creation so I did that. No matter what I do the thumbs and detail sizes don't change. Any ideas? Have I missed a config option somewhere? It's a hosted site at Bluehost.com. Is there something that I need to very needs to be enabled at the server?

Jan, thank you! I did not check in the (menu item) Parameters Component. I thought I had read every bit of the online manual but I missed that part. Does the Parameters Component take precedence over the Global Configuration settings? I guess I'm wondering why these settings are redundant.
** Been reading the online manual further. Is there a way I can download and print the manual? It would really help me to be able to have something I can write my own notes on.
**** The more I use this gallery, the more impressed I am with it. I'm down to one last issue that I can see before I load this thing up with all of my family pictures. On my test site you can see that the background shadow is not resizing with the image. The same happens no matter which shadow I select. Any ideas?

Does the Parameters Component take precedence over the Global Configuration settings? yes
download manual: I write in direct into the page (no dowloadable or printable version yet )
Yes, it is only the background, so you must change the shadow image to your own... as example there is: 50x50, 100x100, 200x200
the images are saved in:
components/com_phocagallery/assets/images
if you use 200x200, just change the paramters (to shadow2 image I think)

Got it! Thank you so much Jan. Donation forthcoming. I don't see how you have time to do all that you do but I thank you for doing it.
BTW - Just in case anyone else needs to go looking, the shadow images are in: com_phocagallery_v1.8.2\front\assets\images

I was getting ready to formulate a post when I saw this thread. I'm working on some really great templates and am finding limitations to the current system. I was wondering how it displayed images so quickly with the shadow around them and the shadows in the template are statically sized so I was a bit confused over how they scaled. Now I know they don't. This system is not very flexible but the way other Galleries handle resizing imageframes isn't very fast.
Ok, so I'm going to keep hacking away on my proposal and have it make sense before posting it. There are some things I'd like to do with templates that I don't think is possible right now. I'll post my request over in the Phoca Development area.
Thank you Jan for a great gallery
