I just tried it in FF and it does display the picture. In Safari it displays the entire page. In both browsers the controls are missing.

"display back button" and "display category button" are both set to 'yes'. Might it be the photo sizes of 651 x 660 causing a problem? I can always size them down if it is.

I changed the front modal box to 680 x 680 and confirmed display buttons 'on'. In 'galleries/new', I found this error message:

Changing back to tinymce solved it for 1 pageload in Safari - where I saw only the photo and not the whole web page. Each subsequent page load shows the whole web page in the box. Both Safari and FF for the Mac do not show the controls.
I am using J! 1.5.3 on a Linux server at godaddy.com with PHP 5.
My client, unfortunately, is also a Mac user and will see this error. What might I do next? Uninstall and reinstall while in tinymce?

I think uninstall and reinstall will not help, no idea
do you use the last versions of Phoca Gallery component and plugin...
