Installation failed

Post by Rechi »

Hi

When updating Phoca Gallery from 4.1.1 to 4.3.6 I will get the following error message all the time:

Warning: Copy file failed
Error: Error installing component

Joomla 3.7.3

Any idea?

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Reason of: "1 Copy file failed" are (mostly) wrong permissions. Check: index.php > 644 and may be also your tmp folder.
Before loading anything again, delete installation-files (if there are some inside) in tmp file except the index.html.

Kind regards, Christine

Hallo Christine

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately I was not successful despite the fact I deleted everything in the tmp Folder (except index.html) and index.php is on 644.

Any other idea?

best regards
Thomas

Hi,
As Christine already wrote above, the error message appears when an old Phoca Gallery file can not be overwritten.
Mostly it affects file (s) in this directory:
/media/com_phocagallery/css/custom/
This files should be set to 644
See: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=57755

Kind regards,

Hi Benno / Christine
I have checked all the files in the above mentioned folders as well as the files in the topic 57755. I'm still not able to upgrade. Are there other folders/files where I have to check?

best regards

Hi Thomas,

check, whether or not the tmp folder is writable. No other idea at this moment.

Hi Christine / Benno

Folder is writable (755). Would you like to have temporary admin rights in order to look into this matter?

Hallo Thomas,

also, wir können hier jetzt deutsch weiter machen :-)

So, hab mal Rundgang gemacht. Leider konnte auch ich PG 4.3.6 bzw. 4.3.5 (wird vorgeschlagen) nicht installieren.

cgi-fci = mal OK. (Um ein www-run Problem auszuschließen). mysqli & PHP 5.6.30
An den Rechten sollte es nicht liegen (soweit ich in diesem ProFiles gesehen habe). Jetzt das Aber:

Meine Versuche:
a) Erweiterungen > Verwalten > Installieren > da kommt dann: "Laden ..." und folgende Meldung (!) >
"keine Verbindung zum Joomla Server. Bitte später erneut versuchen".

b) Daher probiert über: Paketdatei hochladen. Meldung > wie im Eingangspost > hängt also an a)

Thomas
