File download not accessible for "public"

Post by robit »

Hi,

even if I set:
  • category Access=Public / Access Rights=kept empty (public not available here) and
  • the file Access= Public

the download link leeds to login screen and forces me to log in. (after login download successfull so link is definitely not broken)

Where is a problem in my settings or is it a bug?

Hi, as default - when download there is no need to login:
https://www.phoca.cz/download/category/ ... -component

Can I see the site where this occurs?

Jan

Hi Jan.
You do use direct link there
https://github.com/PhocaCz/PhocaDownloa ... v1.3.9.zip

Where I do use the relative
http://aerolog2go.com/help/downloads/ca ... oad=23:agb
(Linked from public page http://aerolog2go.com/contact/terms-conditions )
But also the link to the category itself don't let me access the category screen
http://aerolog2go.com/help/downloads/category/6-agb

Sorry, I think I got the problem. Could be on my side. I used to deep link over a restricted area. I must use direct link to phocadownload category. I will check later today and respond here.

Thanks
Tibor

Right, the issue was on my side.

It was the menu access rights which caused the problem.
For public access I had to create a separate menu item with phocadownload-whatever content. The menu I used was restricted to registered users only.

@skate2k5,
you have probably the same issue I had. That's not direct a Phocadownload issue. Phocadownload rights seems to be just subsequent rights to Joomla rights. You need to create a "Menu" item pointing to this category and give to the Menu public rights. Then you can access the download category thru the Menu's link. You don't need to show the menu item on the webpage but it must be published.

Then your link would look like:
http://www.maitacli.it/new-menu-item?download=24

The problem is that I'm trying to upgrade to version 3.8.3 but it is not successful and I do not update the site.
Now I'm trying with ftp but it does not go the same.

I created an invisible menu item.
But how do I recall it in the article?

Hi, what you exactly mean with "But how do I recall it in the article?"?
