Facebook Comments

Post by nb636 »

Hello! Thank you for creating a wonderful module. I am a beginner Joomla user and don't know how to make this module work...

I installed the Facebook Comments module and created app id with facebook. And I placed the comment box in 40 different pages. Some the pages show it OK, but some pages have yellow warning box "(URL) is unreachable" lint below the comment box. When I click on the page link, it takes me to Facebook developers site > URL Linter. Warning message is Required Property Missing (og:type is required, og:image is required, og:url is required. How can I make all the comment box shows without the warning?

Please help. Thank you!!!

Hi, check the path of the site where the yellow box appears, check if the domain is OK with the domain set in fb application.

Hi, I have no experiences with this, if there is some link in yellow box, it seems like something is not correctly set in Facebook - mostly the domain is not allowed in the application, but have no experiences with other type of problem

I also have the same problem. The URL in the yellow warning box was like: mydomain.comexample it should be mydomain.com/example

I'm seeing the same symptoms, and it's not restricted to facebook. My actual URL is http://cert.berean-baptist.org/about/history.html, but when I do a "View Page Source", I see the following URL embedded instead:

http://cert.berean-baptist.orgabout/history

Even after disabling the comments part of facebook, I see it in the following places:

Code: Select all

<fb:send href="http://cert.berean-baptist.orgabout/history" font=""></fb:send>

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://platform.linkedin.com/in.js"></script><script type="in/share" data-url="http://cert.berean-baptist.orgabout/history" data-counter="right" ></script>

<iframe src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?app_id=133499630061802&href=http://cert.berean-baptist.orgabout/history&send=false&layout=standard&width=498&show_faces=1&action=like&colorscheme=light&font&height=26" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:498px; height:26px;" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>
Somehow, the code seems to be misinterpreting my actual page URI when it builds the HTML for FB Send, LinkedIn, and the iframe for the like button. I can't explain why it works on the demo site, but I'm willing to try things to help troubleshoot. I'm not sure what to try, though.

I have the same problem:
My URI "www.mydomain.de/web/pics/categories" is transmitted like"www.mydomain.depics/categories".
Not only to FB, but also to all other social networks.
And it doesn't matter if i turn on SEF services in Joomla (1.6) or not.

greets

Joomla 1.6.3
Apache 2.2.17
PHP 5.2.17

Search Engine Friendly URLs: Yes
Use URL rewriting: Yes
Adds Suffix to URL: Yes
