Post by Hywkar »

Hi

I'm using Phoca Download v 2.1.1, when i choose a licence for a file, nobody is able to download the file, it eiter return them to the root category of give a file not found error. Download work well if no licence is selected for the file.

Is there anything i can do to debug this problem?

Thanks.

I am experiencing the same problem. It started with 2.1.0 and is also in 2.1.1. If you remove the licence from a file it is accessible to download. If any license is assigned then you get the message 'You have no rights to access this category'. Not immediately obvious why these are related.

In addition I an not seeing the details displayed on some files. The description is displayed on others. These are files that we present when version 2.0.1 was in use and no problems were encountered then, so the upgrade has introduced the problem. Not sure if that helps finding the problem.

I now know why the details were not displayed. It seems that there is a 'carriage return' entered via the editor in the text. The result is that the details are not displayed. Remove the carriage return so that the text is all in one paragraph and the details are displayed in the front end.

I have also been checking the upload feature, which is much improved. Unfortunately if you supply the authors web site (which demands that you enter the http: at the start) it does not use it to update the uploaded file details. Similarly the email address is just discarded as far as I can tell. Another annonance is that if you fill inthe details and then decide to change the upload category some of the fields get reset to empty and have to be filled in again. Minor but still annoying.

That's exactly the problem i have... It's like it's doing the check for license before the choice is proposed to the user...

Hi,

changing category - yes this is a common issue while changing the category - the whole form must be loaded again - to load all the category data

storing website in frontend - confirmed - will be fixed in next version
storing email address in frontend - confirmed - will be fixed in next version
license box (if file view is set to no, it does not display detail window) - confirmed - will be fixed in next version.

Thank you for all the info.

Hi, this will be fixed in next version, but for now I don't know the release date of the next version exactly :-(

For now i didn't take a look at it so for now I don't know what exactly must be modified :-(

Now I am working on next version of Phoca Gallery, so I hope I will find time for fixing it soon.

https://www.phoca.cz/phoca-needs-your-help/ (really overloaded :-(, so please be patient )
