themes in version 2.0

hi, I would like to change the default category view page etc.. but cant see how to do that. i looked in the instructions but that says that a blue and grey theme got installed and you can choose one, but i dont see those at all. i think these must be instructions from an older version.

is there a way to do this without changing the default view files? what i need to change is deeper than what you can do in the layout tab. I would like to make these changes so that they dont get overwritten by updates to the software. thanks, MM

Hi, then you can do it with help of MVC - overwriting component output by MVC - by template - search this in this forum or joomla.org forum.
