Hi Jan,
thanks for your great work with PhocaDownload! This is just great, man. Now I have 2 Questions.
I couldn't find anything in the documentation about a textlink to a file. I need it like this.
Click "here" to download. And "here" should be a clickable link. How can I do this in a comfortable way?
While doing this I was thinking about a JCE-plugin for Phoca. Whom, do i have to adress this wish? To you, or to the JCE-Devs?
Thanks
JamFX

Re: 2 Questions - JCE and Textlink
Hi, if you want to use some button in your article, you need to use Phoca Download plugin and stylize the link like a button.

Re: 2 Questions - JCE and Textlink
Hi Jan,
thanks for your reply. I think I could not make clear enough what I wanted.
I DON'T want a button, like it is done with the Plugin. This is nice, but not what I asked for. I want a TEXTLINK.
It should look like this.
If you want to download XY click _me_. <- _me_ is a simple textlink.
As far as I can see and as far as I understood your reply, it means I have to hack the Plugin. Sad but true.
And what about the JCE-QUestion? Whom do I have to adress to?
THanks!
JamFX
By the way: could you post something about my PhocaMaps-Problem, please! -->https://www.phoca.cz/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=14970
As you can see, it reaches about 1800 Views in a few days. Maybe it is of high interesst..............

Re: 2 Questions - JCE and Textlink
About JCE ... I bymyself don't use JCE and don't know the behaviour for buttons. While making the button plugins, I do them standard way, so they will work in Joomla! and follow Joomla! rules. For now (as I am overloaded), cannot find time to learn JCE way of displaying buttons

Re: 2 Questions - JCE and Textlink
hi Jan
thank you for your great job on Download
as JamFx said a big problem with this extension is that we can not give link to a text or picture because when we use plugin , it adds a box inside which we have a link . But we want alink like this :
for downloading the form click here .
A suggestion : in front of the files in back end give a link address like this :
xxxxx.doc link address (http://mysite/phoca files/ xxxxx.doc)
this links heps me to add it in my content hyperlink
thanks again dear Jan

Re: 2 Questions - JCE and Textlink
Hi Jan,
as sheerkoshan said. The button-solution works fine! The button produces a nice div-container and an icon. This is somethimes wanted and it's quite ok.
But what we want is SOMETHING ELSE, too! Like a second option.
We both want a TEXTLINK. No icon, no div-container. PLAIN underlined TEXT!
As I (and sheerkoshan) wrote in our post, again an example.
The word *here* should be a normal <a href="...">here</a> link..
Hopefully I made clear, what we want. For now (as a workaround), I hacked the plugin-output and just removed the div-container-stuff. So now I use your button below the editor and insert a link-text. Because I removed all the div-styles nothing else, but the textlink I entered is shown.
Maybe you could provide another "below-editor"-button or you can insert an option in the existing button, and the user can choose either to have a whole div-container-construction or a textlink. There is no need of JCE-Editor-Plugins, at all, if your button does the <a href="> link</a> link.
Thanks for your hard work for all these Extensions!

Re: 2 Questions - JCE and Textlink
Hi
Have just come across an unexpected work around for text links without the stylised box container/logo.
I found that if you copy the link text from within the container and paste it onto the white space of your page it still works! I'm not sure if this is supposed to...but it did.
This means that the text link URL can be referenced via your editor, which in turn means you can copy that link address and apply it to images etc
Its not the ideal solution that maybe possible one day please with the Phoca Button Plugin...but its a solution that just worked for me that someone may find helpful.
Cheers

Re: 2 Questions - JCE and Textlink
Hi,
@goodweb: Which container do you mean? You mean, I should grab the link from frontend and copy the url?
I have another workaround, wich works fine for me:
Go to File <joomlaroot>/plugins/content/phocadownload/ In phocadownload.php
About Line 531 and change it from
To
Now you can choos a single File via Editor-Plugin and enter a Linktext in the shown box at the bottom of the Modal-Popup. The given Text will be the link to your Download.
Maybe this "hack" helps somebody more than me.
Cheers

Re: 2 Questions - JCE and Textlink
Hi JamFx
Referring to the 'Link to File' option in the button Plugin. When this is used it inserts file name surrounded by a rectangular box. Sorry but don't know the official name for it.
Thanks for your hack. Looks like a great option. I must have missed it in the thread somewhere.
Would this need to be done each time the plugin was updated?
