Phoca download uploaded file size incorrect

Hi,

I search through phoca forum and cannot find the relevant topic. Hope you can help me on this.

I transfered a video flv file from backend and the file size is 71,856,482B
After upload to phoca download and the 'Detail' button shows its only 68.43MB.
When click on 'Download' button, the downloaded file left only 43,720KB.

Do you know why is this happen ?

This happen to me as well. I uploaded mp3 using FileZilla. After setting it up at Phocadownload, the file size stated at 'Detail' is less than the original file size. I use phocadownload folder for both Download Folder and Download Folder (Play and Preview).

Hi, hmm, testing now and see no problems there:

My server does not change the sizes of files, while downloading them, nothing will be resized - as Phoca Download does not access the file, it only gives information about this file from server to browser ... try to recheck your server settings, maybe there can be some limits set ???

Thank you for taking time to reply to my posting.

Do you have any idea the possible server setting i could look at ? I find this very strange as well. All i did is install and load the file.

I like Phocadownload and i am still sturgling with download issue. I receive this comment from my web hosting. Can I have your view on comment below?

"Your Joomla plugin Phocadownload most probably is using HTTP protocol to download/upload files.

Please note that the HTTP protocol should not be used for large file /downolads/uploads. Basically the upload max size depends on the Apache time out, your ISP speed and the PHP time out. I think that you will be able to upload 30-40 MB file without any issues.

The FTP protocol was specifically designed for large file download/uploads. The HTTP protocol which handles HTML files is not designed to handle large file uploads/downloads. Its purpose is to show certain information as web pages and usually such HTML/PHP files are much smaller (usually under 1MB). Thus they are loaded faster than downloading/uploading files using the HTTP protocol. Also a download process using the HTTP protocol is time consuming and such process is overloading the server because it consumes are lot of the system resources."

Hi, yes Phoca Download uses stnadard HTTP protocol, to use e.g. FTP the download script needs to be changed (but will be not so easy, as then you need ftp logins, etc. etc.)
