[Feature request]

Post by pswarts »

Hi Jan,

It is a long time ago we spoke. The gallery evolved enormously. It becomes a very very good gallery.

A few months ago I started to create a feature which makes it possible to edit/create a description from the front-end. However since than a lot of new releases are made, so my try is not compatible anymore. So if you or somebody else has some time, I would like to have the feature to edit the image description from the pop-up box. This makes it very easy to add descriptions one by one.

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul, great to hear (see your post) you.

Now user has some rights:

- view the category
- delete the image in the category
- publish / unpublish
- upload ( image, image name, image description) ... so maybe there can be the way to add some icon which open the detail window for editing the name and description BUT we have a small problem, we don't have place for the icons :D , there are these icons:

- PicLens Start button (start the PicLens without installed PicLens in the browser)
- Detail view
- Download link
- VirtueMart link (icon which link image with some VirtueMart product)
- Delete (user rights)
- Publish/Unpublish (user rights)
- Geotagging

So what to do now :?: , maybe second row ???

Maybe put the icon before the text (and only when a user with the right rigths in logged in of course).
See also the attached example

yes this can be the solution, but only in case the textarea with submit button will be not longer than the description because the modal box doesn't have the scrollbars... :(

I agree, of course if the user edit a description in the back-end it can be multiline. However in most cases this is not the case. And a single line description is used.

but the problem is not the text but editor with submit button because there is no place for it in modal (the modal has fixed height :-( )

Ok, but during editing the other buttons doesn't need be visible (or not all buttons). So the 'submit' can be put on the button line. Or?

Yes, however having the browse arrows (next, previous) and the image it makes it possible to edit the description and then press next to the next description. For this an image would be very useful.
