MySQL Issues possibly

Post by maddsloper »

Hey Jan,
First off you need to know that I use your programs, almost all and they are great. Easy to install, very fluid and nice looking. You even put in a check for update in all your programs. Very nice. For the past few days I have been trying to figure this out and did not want to bother you as I know you work hard on your programs and more than likely very busy with everyone else asking for support to. So, in advance I apologize for having to ask this question. I host my own website on a server in my home. It is just a fun little family website that uses Joomla 1.5.23. I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10 and Xampp for Linux.

Here is the server info:
Apache/2.2.17 (Unix) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.17 OpenSSL/1.0.0c PHP/5.3.5 mod_apreq2-20090110/2.7.1 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.1 MySQL version: 5.5.8

On my site I usually use your Gallery, Maps, and Download, along with Favicon and Guestbook. Everything installs perfectly and looks great, but then when you go to use it, it errors out. I checked the install.SQL and you already have changed the TYPE=MYISAM to ENGINE so that works great. I have had to make many changes recently for that. However, once you go to use the program in Joomla, it just says, Error saving or loading... I know...permissions right??

I have my permissions set for all the phoca files at 777 , but honestly, I am still learning this linux platform. Really sorry to bother you I just like your programs would like to use them on the website. DO you have any ideas? It seems right now could it be a possible MySQL issue? It seems this version is pretty new.

Hi,
TYPE=MYISAM to ENGINE
yes, this is known issue, changed step by step by every extension upgrade.

Permissions - Phoca Extensions do not solve permissions, they use the Joomla! framework to access the files and folders on the server.

Did you check to enabled php error reporiting and debug mode?

Do you use the latest Joomla!
