I am creating a medium web site for my sons boy scout troop for free as a favor to the scout leader and I am need of some information from the gurus on the forums. I am brand new to joomla and phoca in fact I had never heard of either until a few days ago. I am moderately skilled in css and html and I have designed dozens of wordpress sites but I am beating my head against the wall right now. I got Joomla 1.7 installed on my web host and locally on my xampp install but I am stuck.
I uploaded com_phocagallery_v3.1.1.zip to my localhost and installed it and see it under components however I have no idea how to add it to a menu or page. I need to have a page like localhost/gallery that they can go to and not only see a list of albums that are available to view but also be able to create albums or at least upload photos to existing ones, and preferably have the photos held for admin approval before being added to the gallery.
Can anyone please advise. I have watched dozens of youtube videos on phoca and joomla as well as bought a dummies book for joomla and right now I am feeling very stupid that I cant figure this out.

Re: Complete noob needs help please!!
Hi,
Create a menu item:
backend --> Menus --> Main Menu --> New --> Menu Manager: New Menu Item --> Select --> Phoca Gallery --> List Of Categories (Categories View) -->
Menu Title=(as you like)
Save & close
Now you should find this menu item to Phoca Gallery in your main menu
Kind regards,
Benno
