MAC issues with direct files

Hello,

I use this component on a very big website with over 6000 small audio files. The problem is that when a user on a Mac machine tries to download a file, it plays in the browser instead of downloading to their machine

I'm using Phoca Download 2.1.9 on 2.5 Joomla. Settings are direct link set to enabled.

You might ask why I do not disable direct link? Well, the problem is if I do that then every file on my site becomes corrupt and will only partially download.

This problem has been driving me crazy for months now and I cannot understand the solution. I'm worried that I may have to switch to another component and migrate all my data.

Before I resort to that, does anyone have any ideas about what is causing the issue?

Hi, when using direct link, there there is no option for the component to somehow influence the browser's behaviour - direct link means, the browser's rules are applied and you cannot change it.

So the only one possible way is to not have it direct, then the component tries to change the header of sent data, which tells to the browser what it should do with the files. These are internet/browser/http rules so I think, changing to other component does not help as there is no other option for this
