Batch tagging or tags per category

Hi,

I have many images in my gallery and it's quite annoying to tag all of them as many images should have the same tags.
I would like to know if there is a way to batch tagging selected images, also in many situations all the images of a same category should have the same tags, it would be very useful to be able to set tags on the category, they will then be automatically inherited by the images.

Any idea or suggestion ?
